Physiotherapy and movement therapy

Even if the name suggests it, physiotherapy (KG) is not just about gymnastic exercises. Physiotherapy always involves both active and passive forms of therapy to improve the body's movement and functionality. This is why it is now often referred to as movement therapy.

Depending on the diagnosis, the aim of the therapy is to alleviate pain caused, for example, by poor posture and postural damage or by sport, to correct disorders, to strengthen weakened muscles and to restore a functional daily routine. The aim is also to train people to take responsibility for their own body.

Manual therapy

Manual therapy (MT) is a specialisation in physiotherapy. It focuses on the treatment of muscles and joints - both actively and passively. In manual therapy, we examine how joints, muscles and nerves interact and thus lead to functional disorders or dysfunctions. We use special techniques to mobilise and release these. This improves movement restrictions and pain can be alleviated.

Manual therapists in Germany must complete at least two years of further training with a certificate examination in order to practise and offer this therapy. After our three-year study programme in the Netherlands, during which we were able to apply and deepen our practical and theoretical knowledge, we obtained the certificate. This enables us to comprehensively combine various physiotherapy topics in our practice. This enables us to ensure even better examination and treatment of orthopaedic complaints.

Neurological physiotherapy

Neurological physiotherapy is physiotherapy for the central nervous system. Here we use physiotherapeutic procedures to treat neurological diseases, which can be congenital or acquired. These include, for example Multiple sclerosis, stroke, Parkinson's disease.

The therapy is customised for each patient in order to achieve the greatest possible success in movement sequences and to enable participation in society again.
